CHURCH

Our Story

Redemption Outreach Church International (ROCI) is a testament to the power of faith and community-driven transformation. Founded and officially registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and incorporated in the State of Georgia in August 2010 by Apostle Felix Adade, ROCI embarked on an extraordinary journey. It wasn't just about establishing a place of worship; it was about creating a beacon of hope and healing for our community.

The senior pastor's journey, fueled by an Apostolic mandate and a deep sense of purpose, led him to recognize the profound need within our community. We saw individuals grappling with physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual distress, and we were determined to be a catalyst for their restoration and transformation.

Our humble beginnings were marked by faith and determination. With the unwavering support of four dedicated individuals, we embarked on this transformative path, initially gathering in the cozy living room off my Riverdale, GA home. The seeds of our vision began to sprout, and our congregation grew. Soon, we outgrew my home and found a new home within an accounting office on Old National Highway in College Park, where, by December 2010, we had grown to 10 people. Our ministry was in high demand, and by February 2011, we had expanded to 18 individuals. The need for a larger space became evident.

With faith as our guide, we embarked on a new chapter, renting a 1,500-square-foot place of worship on Washington Road in East Point, GA. This location became the heart of our mission as we held services twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays. Our commitment to the community was unwavering. We started by providing new and used clothing to those in need, made possible through the dedication of a 5-member executive board and the participation of our general membership. Our outreach extended to lively funfairs held in front of the church premises on Washington Road, where we distributed free food, offered heartfelt prayers, and provided compassionate counseling to those who sought it.

In December 2014, our congregation had grown to 38 people, supported by a 10-member executive board. The need for a larger space became undeniable, especially to accommodate our growing children and youth ministry. We made the move to Old National Highway, securing a spacious 3,000-square-foot facility. This transition allowed us to expand our food ministry, offering nourishment to the community twice a month and, eventually, on a weekly basis. We also introduced health and wellness screenings, including services like blood pressure, glucose monitoring, and nutritional education, benefiting the community twice a year.

Our commitment to community growth and empowerment has never wavered. We introduced vital services like GED assistance and computer literacy programs, ensuring that we address not only immediate needs but also long-term personal development.

Now, with a thriving membership of 106 individuals and a growing number of children and youth, our journey continues. We are blessed to have acquired a new facility at 8818 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro, GA 30326, thanks to the grace of God. This new location marks a significant milestone in our mission. It's a space that will enable us to serve our community even more effectively, especially as we navigate the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are determined to expand our horizons by engaging in health and wellness teachings and educating and empowering individuals to make better health choices and habits. With an increased number of health professionals and frontline workers among our membership, we initiated vital initiatives like face masks and hand sanitizer drives during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. We distributed these essential supplies, along with personal sanitary items like paper towels, bathroom tissues, and water, directly to the community.

Our commitment remains unwavering, and our new location is a testament to our dedication to enhancing the well-being and prosperity of our local community. We continue to provide spiritual and economic assistance through our vital food and clothing programs. Additionally, we offer a diverse range of educational opportunities, including financial literacy courses and health and wellness workshops, and back-to-school supplies, among numerous other services. Our journey is far from over, and we look forward to writing the next inspiring chapters together with our community.
